About Product Manager – UI Platform

As a Product Manager, you operate where business meets technology. You contribute to the strategic direction for your team, plan the route forward and coordinate with stakeholders across Workday: Where are we going? How do we get there?

This role is one of two Product Managers in Consumer UI who act as the glue between our developers, designers and quality teams to deliver features that are used daily by millions of users worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a particular flair for Platform Product Management, and be comfortable with the technical and data-driven aspects of building great software.

You will define and own the Roadmap. With thoughtful and data-driven investment planning, you will get input and buy-in from leadership and stakeholders. To deliver, you will work with the engineering team and other Product Managers to break down the plans into refined features. And you will ensure the value of your team’s output is understood and adopted by the end users.

As part of a team of Product Managers operating across the UI Platform Dublin org, this role is dedicated to the Consumer UI pillar.

Product Manager – UI Platform Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Consumer UI

  • Inbound Product Management of a scrum team

  • Managing and prioritising a backlog of features and bugs

  • Owning investment plans, proposing projects we take on next

  • Gather requirements, coordinate design, and guide execution of features

  • Build the Roadmap and communicate the content and value to stakeholders

  • Identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet goals

  • Research consumer applications, competition, industry and technological trends

  • Function as a central resource with design, development, quality, and testing as the product(s) move through their lifecycle.

  • Act as the ‘voice of the customer’ (and reason) during product development

Product Manager – UI Platform Requirements & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate:

  • Organized: diligent and thorough managing very complex projects and processes

  • Stakeholder Management: adept at managing a variety of relationships in a complex organisation

  • Technical: Ability to operate in a complex product area and understand technical detail, working with engineers to navigate issues

  • Data: Experienced with data analytics and leveraging insights to define success, make decisions and measure results

  • Vision & Execution: A track record of defining a vision and influencing partner groups to make it a reality

  • Platform Mindset: Solid understanding of the platform approach to software development

  • Inbounding: Experience with agile methodologies and inbounding a scrum team

  • A clear communicator: in meetings and in documentation

  • Passionate: about enjoying what you do, and working to a high standard

Requirements:

  • 3 years work experience in a software development environment

  • Technical background preferred

  • Experience in Platform Product Management and/or Data Analytics a plus

  • Ability to understand and explain complex business processes

  • Thrive working cross-functionally with engineers, customers, other product organizations, and more.

  • Fast learner, detailed-oriented, and decisive.
