The Senior Finance Manager forms an integral part of the management team who are responsible for the financial operations of Dogpatch Labs. The successful candidate will lead the preparation of financial data, manage staff and interact regularly with business unit managers. Operating as a key driver in the financial operations of a fast-paced, growing start-up.

  • Preparation & financial analysis of monthly management accounts & reporting to senior management in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Preparing, tracking and reporting on financial metrics to be presented to senior management
  • Leading and co-ordinating annual budgeting and strategic planning with relevant department managers
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records
  • Assisting with commercial cash flows, budgeting and forecasting
  • Actively partner with other business operations to monitor, manage and present departmental profitability analysis
  • Nurturing the development of a full time finance assistant
  • Managing Purchase Order approval process
  • Managing the performance of Debtor/Creditor Activity
  • Driving innovation and efficiencies through the implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Reviewing and approving monthly payroll, employee expenses and supplier payments
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with internal control policies and procedures
  • Managing year end audits.
  • Assisting with legal and commercial documentation (commercial contracts etc.)
  • Engaging with external advisors, legal, tax, accountants, insurers etc.
  • Reviewing bi-monthly VAT / PAYE returns
  • Special projects as required to improve efficiencies within the Finance Department

Skills Required

  • A fully qualified finance professional (ACA/ACCA qualification)
  • Minimum 2 years Post Qualified Experience
  • Experience with a cloud based Accounting software package
  • Strong experience in Microsoft excel/google sheet, with the ability to analyse data into a meaningful manner
  • You excel under pressure and are confident in handling change and decision making
  • Comfortable prioritising multiple work streams across daily responsibilities and long-term projects
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; proven ability to collaborate with senior management
  • Must be team oriented; enjoys working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation. Culture is really important to us and we make sure the team dynamic is strengthened with every hire
