Engineering Intern

Optimise Logistics is an early-stage startup building a digital platform for the freight shipping industry. Our web and mobile solution empowers shippers and carriers by unifying communications, providing end-to-end visibility and ensuring compliance. We have a great Dublin-based multinational company as our flagship customer and are busily improving the platform and building our product and company.

We’re looking for a motivated intern to help our small technical team with, well, everything. From quality assurance and customer support to test automation, infrastructure management and feature coding, you’ll be doing lots of everything. Along the way, you’ll have a unique chance to be part of a tech startup making the transition into the growth phase. If you’re bringing a particular technical skill or interest with you, such as UX design, algorithms or machine learning, we’ll put it to good use. Oh, and we’ll pay you as well.

What you should bring with you:

  • At least basic web development skills; our stack includes Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL and AngularJS
  • First-class communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Openness and willingness to learn
  • Motivation and a self-starting attitude

What you’ll get:

  • A unique inside view of starting up a tech company
  • Lots of responsibility and the chance to make a real difference
  • Learn from experienced software developers on real production code
  • A shiny Macbook Pro and whatever other gear you need
  • Flexible working hours (full or part time) and commensurate pay

We’re working out of Dogpatch Labs in the CHQ building in the city centre, which comes with a large urban garden, billiards, ping pong and foosball tables, and all the free coffee you can convert to code.
